MORRISSEY VERSUS THE FAT LADY

Morrissey's getting himself into trouble again over his support for animal rights activists. Perhaps to shake off the taint of David Cameron's coming out as a Smiths fan, Mozzer has been offering his support for the violent end of the animals rights movement:

"I support the efforts of the Animal Rights Militia (ARM) in England and I understand why fur farmers and so-called laboratory scientists are repaid with violence -- it is because they deal in violence themselves and it's the only language they understand -- the same principles that apply to war."

Morrissey said he approved of such tactics because "you reach a point where you cannot reason with people" who carry out animal experiments. "They (the ARM) are usually very intelligent people who are forced to act because the law is shameful or amoral." He added: "With people in the world such as Jamie Oliver and Clarissa Dickson Wright, there isn't much hope for animals."

Dickson Wright stopped throttling sheep with her bare hands long enough to suggest that the young man was probably just in need of some bacon:

He's probably cracked from a lack of animal protein," she said. "It is a very serious business. What they've done to the research workers is terrifying. They have burnt houses down, they beat people up and throw acid. They are extremely nasty pieces of work.

Apparently Dickson Wright created a pro-fox hunting recipe of sauteed deers testicles, called Bollocks to Blair (do you see what she did?); it kind of backfired on her though as, surely, she should have used some fox meat to make a pro-fox hunting statement. Oh, hang on, though, foxes weren't hunted for their meat, were they? It was just for the fun of it.

It's still a stupid and ill advised thing for Morrissey to say, though.
