Thom Yorke doesn't like computer users

Despite using computers to flog In Rainbows to the masses, Thom Yorke doesn't really like people on the internet:

“I don't want that. It lays bare the isolation of many internet users, who've got too much time on their hands. Sad. I prefer expressing myself in the real world.”

... he announced by posting a message on the board in the centre of the town in Animal Crossing.

Too much time on their hands? And what have you spent the last 5 years doing, Thom? Do you have a regular job, because as far as I can see, the sum total of your work for the last few years has been an hour of aural navel gazing.

I read the original interview that this story was taken from. Thom was talking about people who use Second Life not internet users in general.

That's funny anon, I read it too and Yorke never mentions Second Life, so that's strictly your interpretation.

"The singer-songwriter believes too many people now spend the majority of their time on the internet living alternative lives - whereas he still prefers the 'real world'."

"Living alternative lives" is pretty damn vague.

It was taken from an interview he did in the Independent where he specifically mentioned Second Life. I'm not a Radiohead obsessive or anything, just pointing out the omission.
